Jurandvor

Jurandvor is a village founded in the 16th century, consisting of the villages of Čubranići and Juranići, which were named after their nobles. In the center of the village there is the old nucleus so-called Jurin dvor according to which the settlement was named.

The collapsed settlement type and the distance from the sea and the immediate proximity of cultivable land and landscapes refers to the defensive type of rural settlement economically linked to the livestock and agricultural cultural circle. In the village is the church of Sv. Lucius with the Benedictine complex, which is a rare type of Old Croatian sacral architecture with a lush façade. Near the church are the remains of the Benedictine monastery. Jurandvor is best known as the place where the Baška tablet was discovered, which is now kept in the hall of the Croatian Academy of Science and Art, while its copy is in the church of St. Lucia.

Today, in Jurandvor, like the rest of the island of Krk, the tourism sector has been developed. Apartments, villas, passions and rooms are rented.
