THE ISLAND OF KRK - EXPERIENCE THE HERITAGE

How we interpret is especially important for our national identity
our cultural and historical heritage, how we will preserve the old towns
core and how we will manage the space.
Krk is an island with an extremely rich cultural and historical heritage that should
experience. Cultural monuments date back to prehistoric times
today. Thirty outdoor exhibition panels will travel during
summer months at seven attractive locations on the island and be positioned
on squares and waterfronts and take us on a unique visual journey
showing us shots that are definitely worth seeing live. List
we will only mention some of them:
Ancient park Fulfinum Mirina next to Omišalj from the 1st century, sacred
complex of the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Krk from the 5th century, Trg Kamplin s
with a Frankopan castle and a square tower (12th century), Church of St.
Krševana (9th or 12th century) near the settlement of Milohnić, Church of St.
Dunata (12th century) near the village of Kornić (5 km from Krk), Monastery s
museum collection in Malinska, the Franciscan monastery on the islet of Košljun
next to Punto, etc.
A special place in Croatian history is occupied by the early Romanesque Church of St.
Lucia in Jurandvor, a sacred place of Croatian national history and
cultures. The Bašćanska ploča, the most important monument, is located in the church
of the Croatian language and literature, written in the Croatian verb-script (approx
1100)

It is certainly worth seeing the Parish Church of the Assumption of Mary from 1325, s
Renaissance bell tower from the 16th century, which houses the Museum of Fine Arts
of the identity of the city of Vrbnik and the Ethnographic Collection of Dobrinjština and the island of Krk
as well as the collection of fossils from the island of Krk.
Our history is also written by the early Romanesque church, the endowment of the famous
Dragoslav from 1100 in the Sveti Vid settlement as well as the parish church of St.
Stjepan, which was mentioned as the main church of the Dobrinj Chapter in 1100
years.
Along with the display of each destination on the exhibition board, visitors will
through the QR code to be able to connect with the parent tourist community to which
the photo belongs and make sightseeing even more interesting and
multimedia.
The authors who will be represented at the exhibition are: Petar Trinajstić and Sanjin Ilić.
We believe that this attractive outdoor exhibition will help many people
to convey to visitors the cultural heritage of the island of Krk in its full scope
and beauty.
