As part of the KrkBike project, in Baška and all other municipalities on the island of Krk, bicycle rental stations were built, consisting of a control cabinet and 10 stands with electric bicycles and a bench for charging laptops and mobile phones and repairing bicycles.

The e-bike rental systems of all local government units are networked, so that the e-bike can be rented at one location and returned at another location.

The advantage of such a concept is the connection of the entire area of the island and the networking of municipalities and the city of Krk into one whole, just as it was done with the project of electromobility through electric cars.

Rental price: 20 kn / hour (the first 5 minutes are not charged)

Cyclotourism - the most promising tourism industry 

Cycling is a popular tourist and recreational activity in the world. The United Nations World Tourism Organization estimates that there are currently more than 60 million active cyclists in Europe. In the Tourism Development Strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2020, cycling tourism is recognized as one of the products with the greatest development perspective and as a form of activity of special importance.
On this occasion, the e-bike system has been built on the island of Krk, the goal of which is, in the long run, to result in extending the tourist season, ie increasing the number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays, especially in the pre- and postseason, with specially designed tourist packages.
