Get to know the history of Baška through a guided walk! 12.6., 19.6. and 26.6.2021.

In order to give our visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the magic of our small town with big traditions in an interesting, dynamic and interactive way, we organized three *free* walking in June!

In just two hours, a local guide will take you through the main locations and sights of Baška's history and give you the opportunity to meet new people, discover our culture and tradition, learn about important sights and all the details that your traditional vacation would not allow.

1. Saturday, June 12th

Departure at 9 AM

Meeting place: in front of the Glagolitic letter V, Vela plaža

RETURN TO THE PAST - BAŠKA GLAGOLITIC TRAIL 

- gathering in front of the Polo Line travel agency (Glagolitic letter V), distribution of the Baška Glagolitic Trail Guidebook, first filling in of the letters in the booklet

- the tour passes through Baška's picturesque old town

- find out the story of the Baška aquatorium and the windiest island in the Adriatic - Prvić

- Glagolitic letters will lead you to Baška's Stara Riva and the Glagolitic Omega

- a walk back by the sea to the Zvonimir gallery and the exhibition: "Drop by drop, stone by stone - life"

* added value:

- each participant receives an interactive guide to the Baška Glagolitic Trail in which you can collect letters and at the end receives a diploma from the Sinjali Association 

- a tour of the old town of Baška and its hidden streets

- through the exhibition, get to know mrgari (flower-shaped shepherd's drywalls) and the art of past times drywall construction, which is on the UNESCO's cultural heritage list

2. Saturday, June 19th

Departure at 9 AM

Meeting place: in front of the Glagolitic letter V, Vela plaža

HISTORICAL WALK - BY THE GLAGOLITIC TRAIL TO THE VIEW FROM THE CASTLE

- gathering in front of the Polo Line travel agency (Glagolitic letter V), distribution of the Baška Glagolitic Trail Guidebook, first filling in of the letters in the booklet

- walk to the Church of St. John the Baptist, the area of the former Baška Castle with a view of the entire Baška Bay

- stories about the lives of the most important people in Baška's history, our traditions and customs

- walk back near the sea to the Zvonimir gallery and the exhibition: "Drop by drop, stone by stone - life"

* added value:

- each participant receives an interactive guide to the Baška Glagolitic Trail in which you can collect letters and at the end receives a diploma from the Sinjali Association 

- walk to one of the most beautiful panoramic views on the island of Krk

- entrance to the Church of St. John the Baptist

- through the exhibition, get to know mrgari (flower-shaped shepherd's drywalls) and the art of past times drywall construction, which is on the UNESCO's cultural heritage list

3. Friday, June 25th

Departure at 9 AM

Meeting place: in front of Baška's Tourist Office, Zvonimir Gallery

LETTER BY LETTER - FROM THE BAŠKA TABLET TO BAŠKA'S BEACH

- gathering in front of Baška's Tourist Office and a tour of the exhibition "Drop by drop, stone by stone - life" in the Zvonimir Gallery

- shuttle transfer to Jurandvor

- visit to the Church of St. Lucy and its story as the cradle of Croatian culture - accompanied by a guide from the complex of St. Lucy

- a walk back towards Baška along Vela rika river, a story about the Baška valley, it's flora and fauna and the way of life then and today

- introduction to the Baška's  Glagolitic Trail

- the end of the guided tour in Zarok on Baška's famous Vela plaža (glagolitic letter Z)

- the entrance to the Church of St. Lucy and the guide's story about the Baška tablet

- organized shuttle transport to Jurandvor

NOTE: 

* it is necessary to bring sun protection, comfortable shoes, enough water

* it is necessary to arrive at the specified meeting place 5 minutes before departure

* maximum group size: 25 people

* compliance with current epidemiological measures is mandatory

* the program allows adjustments and corrections by the guide, in agreement with the group

* all the Glagolitic letter sculptures are located in easily accessible locations: the climb to the Church of St. John the Baptist, which is part of the Historical Walk, is moderately demanding
